This place was Africa at it's best. First of all it was affordable AND nice, something almost impossible to find in my experience. It's basic - there was no electricity or hot water, but they heated water for you when you needed a shower and it was lovely. It was great to have no computer, internet, music for a few days. The setting is spectactular, and they have worked hard to create a lovely space - the gardens are welcoming, there is a great porch, a fire every night, flowers on our bed when we arrived...I really just loved it so much.
The service was also some of the best we've had in Africa - something I would never expect from a cheap camp place. They were SO lovely and helpful, brought any food or drinks to our room that we wanted, had the hot water ready for us when we got back from our extremely muddy wet cold volcano hike, etc.
The road is crazy if it's been raining lots - beware. food pretty bad but who cares, they are trying and it's middle of nowhere Uganda!
